Nicole Schmidt-Troje

A fully qualified lawyer and corporate governance expert, Nicole has more than 19 years of professional experience in the Luxembourg financial sector.

She began her career at a renowned Luxembourg law firm as an attorney in Corporate/M&A and Regulated Investment Funds, setting up and advising unregulated corporate structures as well as all types of regulated funds (UCITS and AIF), and contributed to large cross-border M&A transactions.

Over the last 14 years she held various positions:

Senior Legal Counsel in the legal department of a “Super ManCo” (UCITS and AIFM licence)
Conducting Officer, Head of Legal and Compliance, Chief Compliance Officer and AML officer (“RC”), leading the foundation of a Luxembourg management company and the migration of existing funds; built up the legal and compliance department and acted as contact for the regulators
Legal & Compliance officer and Chief Compliance Officer / AML officer (“RC”) for a Luxembourg UCITS management company
Member of management / board of regulated and unregulated investment funds (UCITS and AIF) and their SPVs

Nicole is fluent in German, English, French and Luxembourgish and holds German and Luxembourgish citizenship.
